PIT STOP
Well I have always called them outhouses or Johns. It is the first thing I do when I get to an area, search for the location of the nearest bathroom. This one was clean, but it was missing the handle. If you look close, you will see that I am holding the string that is used to hold onto so no one will walk in on you. The name is also new for me. It is actually called the "Pit Stop"

WHY THE EAGLE?
America's symbol of Freedom
It is said the eagle was used as a national emblem because, at one of the first battles of the Revolution (which occurred early in the morning) the noise of the struggle awoke the sleeping eagles on the heights and they flew from their nests and circled about over the heads of the fighting men, all the while giving vent to their raucous cries. "They are shrieking for Freedom," said the patriots.
Thus the eagle, full of the boundless spirit of freedom, living above the valleys, strong and powerful in his might, has become the national emblem of a country that offers freedom in word and thought and an opportunity for a full and free expansion into the boundless space of the future.

The Eagle became the National emblem in 1782 when the great seal of the United States was adopted. The Great Seal shows a wide-spread eagle, faced front, having on his breast a shield with thirteen perpendicular red and white stripes, surmounted by a blue field with the same number of stars.

MICKEY
Here in Texas there are vendors at almost every freeway off ramp at the stop light. So far the most common vendors are selling the daily newspaper and bottled water with a small piece of paper saying that proceeds go to charity (sure). Well the most persistent of them all is this drunk guy that hasn't missed a day of work in over 2 weeks. Every day he is there with his empty cup walking up and down between the cars looking for "hand-outs". Just the other morning at the gas station about 9:30 am, we saw him inside purchasing a 40oz. bottle of Mickey Beer, so we have given him the proper name of "MICKEY". ..... and no we have not donated to his cause. The picture was taken from a cell phone as we were driving by.

Your Social Security
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids.
They need a little history lesson on what's what . And it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat of Republican. Facts are facts!!!
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
completely voluntary.
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
incomes into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the
Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
General Operating Fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
government program, and,
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income.

100 YEARS
"100 YEARS FROM NOW it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. However, the world will be different because I was important in the life of a child."

Well, as I go from neighborhood to neighborhood I run into all types of people. Most situations repeat themselves, but this guy for sure was unique and will most likely never be duplicated. Sitting out in his cozy chair with cigarette in hand begging for a few dollars.

OH YEAH
I don't know why I have been craving these so much lately, but there is nothing like a great, old fashioned donut. I know there is a lot of money and popularity with the Krispy Kreme and other iced and glazed donuts, but to me I love the cake donut.... something that you can chew and that kind of fills you up with something besides air. That along with ICE cold milk.... Oh Yeah!
